I'm just going to take a moment to pat myself on the back for actually managing to get a favourites post up, and not only is not two weeks late, it's actually here. [insert hand clapping and "You are totally tragic and need to get your shit crap together" emoji here]

So, it's here, and it's a bit of a mixed bag. Much like April has been all together actually. So there's some skincare, there's, there's some makeup that I've enjoyed caking on my face with a shovel there's those miscellaneous others and then there's some flowers chucked in for free, because I'm a blogger... and sometimes we like to include flowers because they're pretty. Even if they bear abslutely no relevance. ;) Oh, and then there's a little ramble about how much I love the blogging community and what a bunch of baes babes you all are.  Sound good to you? - No, but we'll humour you anyway - Let's dive in then shall we...
Bourjois Healthy Mix serum review
Bourjois healthy mix serum foundation
Bourjois Healthy mix serum foundation - I mentioned this in a post at the beginning of the week, so like the lazy good blogger that I am, I'll link that up here. But in short, it's a moisturising but long lasting foundation that really just looks so flawless, but luminous... it's love, ladies. And yes, you can be in love with a foundation and don't let anyone tell you otherwise girlfriend!
Jurlique Herbal recovery antioxidant face oil
Best facial oil
Jurlique Herbal recovery Antioxidant face oil - I don't want to go into this too much as I have a full review on it's way (soon... aka when I get my arse butt in gear) but honestly, this stuff has changed my skin. I now genuinely look forward to slathering my face in this every night and I literally wake up looking like Cheryl Cole Fernaddeesdnfksc Versmdfnvjv (you know the one!)*

*Disclaimer, I may have just lied. I definitely do not look like Cheryl... but one can dream, right?
Jurlique Herbal recovery eye serum
Jurlique Herbal recovery eye serum
Jurlique Herbal recovery Advanced eye serum - Again, another item that I'll delve deeper into (that's what she said) at a later date, but this is the eye cream/serum that made me fall in love with eye products. A very light, liquidy texture that absorbs well, but just makes the eye area feel nourished and looked after. An incredible product that I'm really looking forward to boring you all to death telling you about soon.
Wet n wild within these adobe walls
Wet n wild within these adobe walls
Wet n wild Mega lip color, Within those adobe walls - I posted about this in my Spring makeup look post, here. But this is basically the item that got me excited for Spring makeup. A ridiculously pigmented and moisturising lipstick in that perfect peachy/pink/coral shade. I just wished that I'd picked more of these up when I was in NYC.
Nars Virtual domination
Nars Virtual Domination palette - Another product I've written an entire ode to, but this palette has been pretty much all I've been reaching for this month (minus the Hourglass Ambient lighting blush in Dim infusion because that shit stuff is real pretty too). My love affair for Nars Laguna has returned and I honestly can't imagine using another bronzer for a long while.

Unless someone would like to buy me the new Clarins bronzer from the Summer launch. Because that stuff is serious Pretty bronzer goals!
Linzi Georgina Heels
Linzi shoes
Linzi shoes
Linzi Georgina patent black heels - Oh Linzi, my love for your shoes will never ever die. I was lucky enough to be sent these gorgeous heels from Linzi, and I have used every excuse possible to wear these as much as I possibly can. I did a full review of them here, so go and check that out. I mean, if you want to obviously, totally don't have to. (... but I really think you should) ;)

Oh, in other news, Linzi were also kind enough to send me another pair of their shoes after liking my review. You little charmers Linzi, you... Sneak peek over on my Insta, full review to come!
Rayban wayfarers
Rayban wayfarers
RayBan Tortoiseshell Wayfarers - Fun fact (*disclaimer* the following fact will definitely not be fun) I am a slight sunglasses hoarder. I'm kinda all or nothing though... I have some staple Raybans - The above wayfarers and some aviators that I have worn to death - and then I have 50 billion (slight exaggeration, but not by much) cheap Primark pairs and I wear - and love - them all to death. Am I that total tosspot tit twat idiot that wears them mainly on days when no makeup has been painted on and the under eye bags are scarier than Kanye's ego? Yes. Do I actually care if people think I look like a knob? No. These Rayban wayfarers have been my "I look like a dick plank and I don't even care" glasses of choice.

So now the makeup/skincare/fashion items are done, it's time to move onto my favourite things to discuss. Those Miscellaneous favourites, and first up is my current favourite TV Series.

How to get away with murder - I am a complete series/boxset fiend and How to get away with murder has done an amazing job of filling my Suits/Homeland/Scandal sized hole in my life. It's a bit of a thriller, it definitely has some comedy one liners and it reminds me of Scandal in that "murder mystery" but with the same characters that you invest in, sense. It's also shot in a similar way to Scandal (which the ex TV Producer in me loves) which isn't too surprising as they have the same writer/producer, Shonda Rhimes. Highly recommend this series!

Yoga with Adriene - Adriene has done the impossible for me, and that is that I finally just get yoga. For so long I tried to get into it but my general feels were pretty much "ain't nobody got time for downward dog..." Now, I make time for Yoga with Adriene because it is pretty much the only thing that can zen my mind out. It's also amazing for flexibility too. Yo go Glen coco Adriene!

Taking time out, Sunshine, and you lovely lot! - All piled neatly into one because man do I love to ramble and this post is already pretty long. This month I have taken some - much needed - time out from work and in the process, feel much calmer, relaxed, less stressed and just happier. The sun has been a huge factor in said happiness and I love nothing more than going on a good 2 hour walk around London, discovering new places and drinking all the frappuccino's. Also, a huge thank you to everyone that reads and comments on this blog. I mentioned in a previous post that I hadn't been feeling too great and so many of you commented the loveliest things. Please know that each and every one of your comments means the absolute world to me, it is always greatly appreciated.

Right, now that I have reached my soppiness/"Get a life you drip" quota for the rest of the year, it's time to wrap this post up. I would love to know what your April Favourites are? Please feel free to leave any April favourites blog post links in the comments below, also. :)

As always, thank you so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!

My old dutch
my old dutch review
When it came to putting together today's post, I have to admit... I was at a bit of a loss. You see, this week has been a bit of a tough one - with trying to level out the work/life balance amongst a couple of health bits and bobs (this is my attempt at trying to play it down. Is it working? Oh well, worth a try...) and a combination of practically no sleep - Oh hi there giant under eye circles, how ya doing? - a lot of wine - which basically means all the wine - and focusing on things more important than makeup and "trendy clothes", I really wasn't in the right frame of mind to doll myself up and pick out something "blog post worthy" to wear.

So I did what I always do when I need a pick me up... I face planted a lot of food and dove, literally dove face first into a pile of pancakes. And it was glorious...

I headed to My Old Dutch after some morning meetings and just happening to find myself in the area. (Via a major tiny, Holborn-bound detour). Now, My old dutch is somewhere that I've been meaning to head to ever since discovering that the renowned Pancake house serves numerous Gluten free options. I love pancakes... I also have Coeliac disease, and these two things generally don't mix. (Unless you get the GF pre-made mix in which case they are certainly not the same thing anyway) And I have to say, the only negative of the whole experience was deciding what to pick from the extensive selection. #FirstWorldProblems. In the end, I opted for a sweet and savoury option because I'm a greedy, fat pig because why not have the best of both worlds. YOLO...

So, Dan - oh, fyi ladies, unless you're in Gossip Girl or are Rose from The Londoner, you cannot get away with referring to your boyfriend as "D"/relevant initial. You just can't... you will sound like a knob! - went for the Smoked duck (alongside the Nutella milkshake which literally made us both lose our shit) and said it was incredible. Unfortunately he lost fiancee points for not ordering the gluten free version so I could try some. The wedding's off, world! ;)

My old dutch smoked salmon
I went for the Smoked salmon gluten free pancake. I absolutely love smoked salmon - gimme all the Omega 3 girlfriend... - and mushrooms (controversial, I know) so this was a no brainer. Now, first of all, huge points for My Old Dutch for making a gluten free pancake that actually tasted like a "normal" pancake (from what I can remember anyway) and didn't fall apart within approximately 30 seconds of trying to pick it up. But the best part, oh the best part, had to be the creamy mushroom sauce. Now, if you don't like thick, creamy, garlicy, rich sauces... this is not going to be for you. But if you do... you better start planning your funeral because you are going to die and go to heaven eating this.*

*Can we just take a moment to appreciate just how cheesy that line was. I have truly outdone myself [insert hand clapping emoji here].

Despite being totally stuffed - and believe me, I am known for my ridiculously large appetite so this is really saying something - we pushed on and ended on a high. A nutella high. And it was probably the best thing I've eaten. Gluten free crepe, icing sugar and all the nutella to complete my food baby/triplets/beached whale coma.

Blogger Instagram
Time for an Instagram plug? Oh go on then... I documented my day/life/entire existence on it so if you're interested (Mum, that'll be you) you can follow me here.

As mentioned above, I have not been feeling my best lately so dressing up all fancy was definitely not on the agenda. Although in the end, I went for a casual - and most importantly - ridiculously comfortable look, that could maybe, maybe, appear slightly chic?

Probably not...

Said probably not chic outfit.

So, that brings my food porn/casual lesbian-chic outfit post to an end. I hope you're feel sufficiently hungry and are planning your next pancake binge, already. :) As I mentioned at the beginning of the post - pre food porn and rambles - it's been a bit of a tough (and busy) week, so taking some time out for good food, and a gorgeous walk through London in the sunshine was so, so needed.

I would love to know what you do when you're in need of some "me-time"? What's your favourite pancake house, have you tried My Old Dutch yet? Also, any pointers for comfortable/casual but chic /"I woke up like this" outfits? Answers on a post card...

... or the comments box will also be fine ;)

As always, thank you so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!

spring beauty
Alongside shaving my legs for the first time in 6months, chopping my hair shorter and in the process, avoiding back/neck sweat, and having to do a speedy D.I.Y pedicure on nails that haven't  - and shouldn't have - seen the light of day for a long time... I also like to switch up my makeup as we move from season to season.

But before I go on to my spring makeup look, can we all just take a moment to appreciate just how ridiculously/ludicrously/comically unsexy that first sentence was? I have truly outdone myself ;)

So, I don't tend to mix up my makeup looks too much. I'm just a comfort zone kinda girl, so when I discover a look that I like, I stick to it. (Hence the 50bajillion pink lipsticks, peachy pink blushers and bronzey eyeshadows...) However I do slightly mix things up a little when we move into the warmer months, so how about I tell you what I do in this post today?

Oh, you don't give a shit damn you say? Well, that's awkward because the entire post is based around it...

On to the Spring mix up.
Bourjois healthy mix serum
Bourjois healthy mix serum
I mentioned in my previous post that I've been opting for glowy/sheeny skin and cheeks lately and that still hasn't changed. My glowy but flawless skin (well, "attempted" flawless skin) comes courtesy of Bourjois's Healthy mix serum. I have fallen in love with this beauty... the perfect choice for most skin types as it's nourishing but also lasts a really long time. It feels light on the skin but also has pretty great coverage. I received so many compliments on my skin at the #SLBloggerBash and that was all down to this. (Because girlfriend's skin definitely does not look like that makeup free.)
BD Trade secrets highlighter
BD Trade secrets highlighter
To up that sheen factor - totally not a thing, totally making it a thing - I have a new product from BD Trade secrets, in the form of their Dream Shine highlighter*. I have to say, I was so impressed with many products in their line, but this one really is pretty special. So far this has been my top Spring favourite, a liquid bronzey/highlight that blends seamlessly on top of makeup and gives that stunning "lit from within glow". It also looks amazing mixed in with foundation for a really glowy, "I eat my 50 fruit and veg per day" healthy skin look. Lots of love for this.
Mac All that glitters
Mac All that glitters
Mac All that glitters has topped my makeup menu lately, and whilst I'd happily wax lyrical about it for the next 10 hours, I'm conscious of boring you all to death... so if you want to read more about ATG - yep, we abbreviate eye shadow's on the elle next door because we're cool (and by "we", obviously I just mean me) - click here.
Kat von d tattoo liner
Kat von d tattoo liner
Kat Von D Tattoo liner in Trooper - No matter what the season, Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter - yep, they're the seasons Elle, blue peter badge for you... - winged liner always plays a part in my makeup routine. Whilst I still haven't found "the one" when it comes to liners, this is a really great option. (Although if you're on a budget, Collections Felt tip liner is just as amazing!)
Hourglass Dim infusion
Hourglass Dim infusion
Hourglass ambient lighting blush in Dim Infusion - Again, this is another product that I've raved about many times before, but it really is that pretty. A stunning, sheeny, glowy light peach blush that just lifts and illuminates the face. It basically makes your face look alive even if you feel like death inside. In other words, give me all the blush!
Wet n wild lipstickWet n wild lipstick
Wet n Wild lipstick in Within these Adobe walls - First of all, I bought this lipstick in New York which means it immediately became a favourite/sentimental lipstick/"I bought this lipstick in NYC, where I got engaged, Oh my god I love it" item. But biased opinions aside, this Wet n wild lipstick is actually stunning. A bright, peachy pink with a really nourishing, but long lasting formula. I don't believe in keeping certain products for certain times of the year (Mac Angel all day, ehhr day) but this one just seems to be particularly perfect for Spring as there's also a hefty dose of coral in there. Also, the pigmentation in just one swipe is just... [insert "thumbs up"/"clapping hands" emoji here]

And I guess no makeup post would be complete without seeing it shitely applied slapped on the face itself.
I've been drankin'... watermelon. Erm, well, I actually haven't, but I've been painting (Essie) watermelon on my nails which is pretty much the same thing, right? [insert "totally unconvinced but maybe someone will pity me and agree anyway" emoji here] I've had this on my nails for the last 2 weeks, and for someone that usually changes them every 3 to 4 days - yep, I have far too much time on my hands - this is pretty damn impressive.
So this concludes my Spring makeup/nail polish picks/"Oh look there's some blossom and pretty branches... let's shove my head near and take some photo's" post. Whilst yes, there is absolutely nothing unique or revolutionary about this makeup look, it's different for me, which is why I documented it here today.

I would absolutely love to know what your favourite Spring time makeup looks and nail polishes are? Any new Spring launches that you'd recommend? I would love to hear your thoughts :)

As always, thanks so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!
